  • The Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung is currently developing an international discourse and exchange programme entitled “Bauhaus Art Schools”. Its aim is to augment the archive’s long-cultivated historic network of cooperation with new institutional partnerships and think tanks in the fields of art, design and architecture.

  • The programme starts by activating the conceptual legacy of the Bauhaus by applying its historical ideas to contemporary issues and reassessing them with a view to the future. In cooperation with leading international training and research institutions where a new generation of pioneering thinkers is learning, researching and working, the programme reexamines key questions concerning teaching, research and design – specifically their methods, conditions and societal impacts as they relate to the environmental, social, democratic and technological challenges of our time.

  • “Bauhaus Art Schools” sees itself as a platform for deliberation and action, where participants can bring together various forms of knowledge, perspectives and practices and test new forms of cooperation. The project will create a framework for developing joint formats and long-term collaborations. A series of preliminary workshops, conferences and pilot projects will serve to advance this process. The founding conference on “Bauhaus Art Schools” is scheduled to take place in Berlin in September 2027.
